Bradley Cooper’s Passion for Metal Detecting Unveiled: An Unexpected Treasure Hunt!

In 2010, while filming “The A-Team” in Vancouver, Cooper discovered a military ID tag from World War II using his metal detector. The tag belonged to Lt. Thomas Kelly, who had been killed in action during the war. Cooper was determined to find out more about Lt. Kelly and return the tag to his family.

After extensive research, Cooper finally found Lt. Kelly’s sister-in-law living in California. He arranged to meet her and personally returned the ID tag to her family as a way of honoring Lt. Kelly’s sacrifice.

Cooper has also used metal detecting as part of his preparation for roles in films such as “American Sniper.” In an interview with Men’s Journal, he explained that he would spend hours metal detecting at shooting ranges to get into character and understand what it felt like to be searching for something valuable.
