Theodore Roosevelt, often referred to as Teddy Roosevelt, was the 26th President of the United States. He was a man of many talents and accomplishments, from leading expeditions in Africa and South America to being an advocate for conservation and national parks.

Roosevelt was born into a wealthy family in New York City in 1858. Despite his privileged upbringing, he suffered from health problems throughout his life, including asthma. However, this did not stop him from pursuing his passions.

One of Roosevelt’s most notable achievements is his role in creating national parks and protecting natural resources. He believed that it was important to preserve America’s wilderness for future generations to enjoy. During his presidency, he established five new national parks and signed the Antiquities Act into law which allowed him to designate certain areas as national monuments.

Outside of politics, Roosevelt had many interests including hunting, writing books (he wrote over 35!), and even boxing! In fact, he continued boxing while serving as President which earned him some criticism at the time.
