How Does Ground Balancing Work?

Metal detectors use a technology called Very Low Frequency (VLF) to detect metals. VLF works by transmitting an electromagnetic field into the ground and detecting any changes caused by metallic objects. However, mineralized soil also produces electrical signals that can interfere with detection accuracy.

To counteract this interference, modern metal detectors come equipped with ground balancing features. There are two types of ground balancing methods: manual and automatic.
